On April 22, 1889, Oklahoma’s land fever advanced at noon, since thousands of hailstorms brought claims to almost 1.9 million acres of land was previously part of the Indian territory. At the end of the day, the cities of Oklahoma City and Guthrie settled with so many axis 10,000 settlers each.

In 1915, German forces unleashed their first large-scale use of chlorine gas against allied troops at the beginning of the second battle of Ypres (EE’-PREH) in Belgium during World War I. It is believed that thousands of allied soldiers died of poisonous gas attacks.

In 2000, in a dramatic prevailing incursion, armed immigration agents confiscated Elian González, 6, the Cuban child in the center of a custody dispute, of the house of his relatives in Miami. Elian met with his father at the base of the Andrews Air Force near Washington.

In 2005, Zacarias Moussaoui (Free ‘Uhs Moo-Sow’-EE) declared himself guilty in a Federal Chamber outside Washon, DC, to conspire with the kidnappers of September 11 to kill Americans. (Moussaoui was sentence to life imprisonment in May 2006.)

In 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil platform, operated by BP, sank in the Gulf of Mexico two days after a mass explosion that killed 11 workers.
