A veterinarian from Las Vegas disappeared in early April, shortly after a video of him brutally kicking a horse on his face appeared online, was found dead in a lake on Friday.
Dr. Shawn Freehner, 56, was recovered from Lake Mead, a Nevada Deposit Voltage to Arizona. The authorities combed the reservoir after finding their truck and multiple personal belongings near the advantage of water last week.
His identity was confirmed on Monday, the revision of Las Vegas-Journal reported.
Freehner originally disappeared on April 6 after hey He was captured physical abusing a horse He was supposed to be breaking. He later apologized on Facebook after the video went viral, and defended his actions before disappearing.
“I didn’t barely transported this horse as it appears in the video,” Freehner wrote to News8Now. “That was not my intention at all. It was simply to put the horse in a better position so that I could breathe, get up and move so that I could anesthetize me.
“But yes, I kicked it directly on my chin and apologized a lot and I want this to never happen.”
Freehner was ready to face charges for serious crimes for animal abuse at the time of his disappearance.
Shawna González, whose Freehner animals had tried since August, captured the veterinarian images hitting his horse Big Red.
“It’s horrible, never, I never wished about him, I never wanted it about anyone,” González He told 8Newsnow. “This is not what I wanted in the end.”
Big Red suffered extensive injuries that will probably require thousands of dollars to treat, including abrasions to their skull.
