The giants made their first movement on the list on Saturday, placing Casey Schmitt box players on the 10 -day injury list with a left -wing tension.

Schmitt was announced as the headline on Friday night, but was scratched in favor of Lamonte Wade Jr.

“It happened just before the game, hitting the cage, likely 25 minutes before the game,” said the manager of the Giants, Bob Melvin, after a 2-0 defeat against Los Angeles Angels.

The picture player David Villar, designated for the allocation at the end of spring training, was promoted as a triple-a sacrament to take his place.

It was the first transaction of the season for the giants, which under the president of baseball operations, Buster Posey, has tried to contribute more stability to the Major Leagues club both in terms of the alignment and sending players to the minors. Until now it has been worth a record of 13-7 in Saturday night against Los Angelinos.

Last season for April 19, the giants had made six movements of the list.

Schmitt has mainly played the first base this season on the days when Lamonte Wade Jr. Rest. His defense has been a pleasant surprise, but Schmitt was hitting alone .174 (4 for 24) without home runs and two ranked races. Wade has a leg in a horrible fall since the season began and entered the game on Saturday night against Los Angeles Angels is heating .096 (5 by 52) With a home run, seven ranges driven, eight walks and a base percentage of .213.

Wade was still in the alignment and batting sixth on Saturday night against Kyle Hendricks of the Angels, against whom he has an average race batting of .364 (4 by 11) with a couple of homers.

Villar was hitting .368 in Sacramento with a home run, seven ranges, 13 walks, A.439 in base percentage in 15 games. After 23 games in spring, Villar was surpassed to Sacramento on March 29, an indication that perhaps his opportunity with the giants had escaped.

“A great change of events, and I am happy for him,” said the Giants manager, Bob Melvin, to journalists. “This organization has been for a while, you feel that they pass and designate you and think:” Do I need to go to another organization? “

Melvin said the manager of Sacramento Dave Brundage gave Villar a brilliant review in terms of effort and professionalism.

“I was playing hard every day, it didn’t apologize,” said Melvin. “He didn’t complain not to have the opportunity, and then produced, and that’s why he’s here.”

Like Schmitt, Villar has a position versatility, after having played 44 race games in the third base and 27 each in the second base and the first base.

The other option in the first base for the giants Wilmer Flores, who has an exclusive Bone batter so far and leads the National League with 23 ranges promoted to go with six homers and an average batting of .225.

The giants also transferred the gardener to hierar incarnation (wrist surgery) to the 60 -day injury list.

Webb ‘wasted’ gem ‘

Logan Webb’s right obtained his first defeat of the season on a night in which he struck out 12 batters and did not walk anyone, renouncing a race won in six tickets.

“It feels like a lost launch effort,” Melvin told reporters. : Give a career won, hits 12, he doesn’t walk anyone. That is a very good performance. “

According to Elias Sports, Webb became the fourth launcher of the giants since the pitcher’s mound moved to his current distance in 1893 to have 10 strikeouts and without walks. It joins Madison Bumgarner (12 times), Tim Lincum (five times) and Juan Marichal (four times).

“Apero to those guys,” Webb said. “Every time you are on a list with those guys, you are doing something well.”

Allhehe rarely breaking 95 miles per hour in speed, Webb generated 16 swings and failures with a plumber, change and sweeper. In 30 tickets, Webb has 38 strikeouts and an average execution of 2.40 currents.

He hit Los Angels Mike Tout toleter three times.

“Mike Trout likes the ball and Logan is a pitcher down, but now there is a subtle movement in both directions,” said Melvin. “There is a great movement with the sweeper and he throws enough too. Another pen on his cap tonight.”

While Webb admitted that it would exchange the efficiency of the strikeouts that lamented the amount of releases that was lost by a wide margin while it was ahead in the count, the movement encouraged the movement in its change.

“I am very excited about change,” Webb said. “It is the safest that I have felt in that launch in that launch, back at the end of 2023. I have to continue trusting it, maintain that trust.”

Grades

-Well Lee’s Lee Center dropped a perfect drag touch through the third baseline in her first bat with Luis Rengifo playing deeply and to the left. If I had hit it with a little more force, a double leg would have a double leg.

Lee is cutting .361/.420/.653 (1,073 OPS) with 10 doubles, a triple, three home runs, 14 ranges, three robberies and 19 races in 19 games. The last hitter of the giants to have an OPS of 1,070 or more in 19 games was possey in 2021 (1,175).
