Houston – The Warriors have heard everything about Houston’s rockets’ They plan to make their Western First Round Conference Playoff series a physical routine.

The rockets have not hidden that they intend to Make a Golden State fight For each dribble and inch of space duration to The best confrontation of seven that begins in Texas on Easter Sunday.

Golden State (48-34) is seed number 7, while Houston (52-30) is seed number 2 and beat the Warriors three of the five times with the door of the regular season.

With known pages of warriors such as Dillon Brooks, Alperen Sengun and Fred Vanvleet on the other side, Golden State veterans have said repeatedly That level of Level level is a key to success in the series.

“It’s time for money and it’s the playoffs, so you have to block,” said Gary Payton II. “We have many types that have leg situations in the thesis with the playoffs, so we must follow their example, stay compounds and not be too excited.”

Steph Curry, Drayond Green and Kevon Looney were part of Dynastic Warriors teams that beat Houston in four playoff series between 2015 and 2019.

While Payton was not present for those historical series, he still has a proven strategy to maintain his cold if the heated moments arise the series.

“Smile, just smile and be grateful for the types of moments,” said Payton II. “Have fun with them, and at the end of the day, it’s just basketball, but it’s a significant basketball, so that is the best part.”

The Warriors emphasized the importance of hitting the glass, since Houston led the league in the total rebounds (48.5 per game) and offensive boards (14.6).

A large part of that can be accredited to have the alignment of the double tower of 11 feet and 11 or Alperen Seugu and Steven Adams under the edge, along with the 6 -feet athlete 7, Amen Thompson of Oakland, which is capable of flying the herd.

Moses Moody said that the perimeter players of the Warriors, not only Bigs Green, Looney and Quinten Post, must work in the glass so that the Warriors are effective.

“It will be aggressive, but they are the playoffs, so you just have to play hard and put everything at stake,” said Moody.

Fortunately for Golden State, Rockets are far from being an offensive giant.

Although Houston led the league in shots attempted per game with 93.4, it was the 21st in general percentage of field goals, 21 in 3 -point shooting precision and lasting on the free throw line only 73.8%.

If the Warriors do not turn around and recover well, that would eliminate many of the easy looks on which Houston is based to maintain their attack later.

“They play with a lot of pressure, so he said (Payton said), they hit the singles and don’t try to hit homers,” Moody said. “Don’t try to win the game in a single play, and just take possession of possession.”

Former star of the bay area to run for the rookie of the year

Native of Norcal and former star of the state of Sonoma Jaylen Wells was List as a finalist For the prestigious award on Sunday night.

The versatile defensive wing of 6 feet 8 of the Grizzlies played in 79 games and averaged 10.4 points per game as the best perimeter cap in the team.

Wells went to Folsom High near Sacramento, and was appointed player of the 2021 high school in Sacramento Bee.

He played two seasons in Sonoma State, a program that played his last season in 2025 after the school reduced all sports programs, before transferring to the state of Washington as Junior.

Before playing in the game Rising Stars at the Chase Center, Wells reflected on the return to the Bay area.

“This means everything,” Wells said. “It is a complete circle, being so close to the state of Sonoma, being close to the family and being so close to home.

“… My agent told me that a year and a half ago, I was playing against Cal Poly Pomona, and it was not offended, but now I am playing against Luka Dončić. He is a child of putting everything in perspective.”
