‘We Cannot Compromise’ with Trump

Harvard University president Alan Garber, said Wednesday “NBC Nightly News” that the school was demanding the Trump administration because it did not commit to retain $ 2.2 billion in subsidies.

Garber said: “What they are indicating is that they want to direct Lly to review who we hire about our faculty. That has implications for what types of views can be expressed on campus. Host Lester Holt said: “You are facing the most powerful man in the world.”

Garber said: “We are defending what I think is one of the most important successes of the American economy and way of life, our universities.”

Holt said: “How much pain can Harvard absorb here?”

Garber said: “We do not know how much we can absorb real, but what we do know is that we cannot compromise the basic principles such as the defense of our rights of the first amendment.”

Holt said: “Is this a fight you can win?”

Garber said. “I don’t know the answer to this question, but bets are so high that we have no choice.”
