Luigi Mangione prosecutors file intent to seek death penalty against alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson killer

Federal prosecutors have declared the intention of seeking the The death penalty against Luigi MangioneAccording to a judicial document presented on Thursday night.

The presentation was obtained by Courthouse News Service on Thursday.

Comes a week after mangione, which is Accused of killing the CEO of Unitedhealthcare Brian ThompsonHe was accused of federal charges.

The Court document argues that Mangione “intentionally” killed Thompson Due to its position as CEO of a health insurance company.

“Mangione chose to assassinate Thompson in thesis circumstances to amplify an ideological message, maximize the visibility and impact of the victim’s murder, and cause a broad base resistance to the victim’s industry,” says prosecutors.

The document also states that the 26 -year -old presents “a future danger” because he expressed his intention “to attack an entire industry and gather the political and social opposition to that industry.”
