Former Secretary of State John Kerry Tok a defensive position after a MSNBC host said Russia had attached Crimea under his surveillance door to the Obama administration.

Chris Jansing of MSNBC spoke with Kerry from inside the Vatican on Friday before The Saturday’s funeral of Pope Francis.

Jansing mentioned how Pope Francis was a “voice for peace” and had been separated from the current war between Russia and Ukraine.

“You were Secretary of State when Russia attached Crimea,” Jansing said. “And I want to ask you -“

“But when they claim they were,” Kerry interrupted. “We did not allow them to attach it. And we stood up and face him.”

“Correct,” Jansing agreed. “They said it was his.”

“Yes, they said it, but according to international law, that does not do it,” Kerry replied.

Jansing asked Kerry what he thought or the suggestion of President Donald Trump that under a possible peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine that Russia would keep Crimea control.

“Well, who knows?” Kerry reacted. “Personally, I do not agree to put that on the table.”

“It is a dramatic change in American politics,” Jansing said.

“Huge, I just said that I did not necessarily agree to put that on the table,” Kerry continued. “Who knows what the parties will accept. Clearly, each part must be perceived by them as just for them and as a balanced result in some way. And I think to announce where a very disguised position comes.”

“I applaud to the president for pursuing this. I know he has persecuted him. Hello chickens to have peace. I think, and I would like the best in his efforts to try to get there. It is a difficult task, but it is difficult.
