It is one thing to be a fanatic passionate about strengthening with a base of opposite fans on social networks, but another being the team’s executive and speaking like a moron. Douglas A. Cifu, who appears on the website of the Panthers as the “Vice President, Partner and Alternative Governor” of the team has been suspended by the NHL indefinitely after an answer that sent a fan of Maple Leafs became public before blocking the account.

Cifu was primed in the commitment by a Twitter user called “Dr. Grizzo”, who admitted that he was trying to prime the Panthers Executive with his comments, but nevertheless an answer like this was surprised.

The nature of CIFU’s comments that refer to Canada such as State 51, as well as its political comments are what the league’s exception, Saying in a statement:

“The NHL has concluded that Mr. Cifus X’s positions were unacceptable and inappropriate. As a result, Mr. Cifu has been suspended indefinitely from any participation with the club and the NHL,” said the league in a statement. “A meeting will be scheduled in person with Mr. Cifu and the commissioner on a date to be determined.”

Panthers are currently blocked in a very physical 2-2 series with the Maple Leafs while both teams try to move to the Stanley Cup. The emotion has boiled several times among the players, and now apparently with the owners too.

At this time, the Florida Panthers have not issued a statement regarding CIFU’s comments.
