I am a cozy girl from beginning to end. There is nothing that I love more than a large sweater, spongy blankets and roaring fires, but the thesis is few and distant in the summer. I always thought that practicing Hygge was for colder months, but in reality, the welcoming season can exist at any time with a little creativity.

Hygge (pronounced Hoo-gah) It is a Danish concept that celebrates comfort and satisfaction through simple pleasures and an intentional life. And yes, while associated with winter, Hygge is really a mentality throughout the year. In the warmest months, Summer Hygge appears as a slow morning, spaces bathed by the sun, barefoot dinners in the backyard and daily rituals that help us savor the season.

From softening your home with advantageous textures to adopting a significant connection through outdoor meetings, here are some ideas that give life to Summer Hygge: the season feels as cozy and restorative as autumn or winter.

Lumina your textiles

If you already did, now it is time to change your heavy tissues and false skins. Opt for flax shots and windy bed that keeps you very hot summer nights. Remember, Summer Hygge has to do with comfort and satisfaction, which means delighting all the materials that help him stay fresh in the midst of heat. If Winter Hygge is to group, Summer Hygge is to cool off.

Feel free to change your curtains for something a little more relaxed and fluid. If you have heavy velvet curtains, consider changing them by cotton or linen. Department of the environment you are looking for, you can choose light filtering curtains or linen curtains that include a darkening lining of the room.

Create a summer sanctuary at home

Pass some time before the summer season is put in full to establish an intention of life at home. How can your home support your family this season? Will you be entering and dating summer empties or do you look good? Whether you plan to spend a lot of time at home, or it will be transitory, take measures so that your home is a cozy place to be.

House corners style with seasonal delights like straw hats, a favorite candle and fresh cut flowers. Keep bright and fresh fragrances (Citrus is always my favorite at this time of year) and always drink a cold drink nearby. Maintaining a beautiful drink dispenser full of water and cutting fruit is a fun way to add a little fantasy to their space and encourage everyone to stay hydrated. A winner!

Bring the open air

Following Mother Nature’s rhythms is an optimal way of nourishing her own well -being. Hygge encourages intentional life, and leading outdoors is a wonderful way to stay connected and present to the world around you. Fill your space with seasonal touches such as fruit bowls, herbs in pots and flowers in the farmers market. Let your house be bathed in the sun opening the curtains early in the morning. Don’t worry, you can always close them in the afternoon if it’s too hot.

Embrace slow life rituals

Its summer can be a burst of travel and activities, or it can be a series of lazy days past resting by the pool. Wherever it is on the spectrum of the bus and the relaxed: slow life rituals are a wonderful way to practice summer hygge. Reducing the speed to savor and enjoy all the magic that the season brings is what Hygge is about, after all. This may seem to be early in the newspaper on your porch or savor your icy matcha before your day begins.

Personally, I think summer is the season for the afternoon naps. The days are long, and an average doubt in a hammock under a shaded tree sounds like a total joy. Let the summer rhythms guide a more present rhythm and take into account what your body needs.

Take time for simple summer meetings

Quintenstial Winter Hygge is gathering around a cozy fire, chatting with friends about cake and coffee. Without drama, only vibrations. The equivalent summer hygge? Outdoor dinners, happy hours of spritz or brunches in the backyard, an elegant configuration is not needed. Gathering with loved ones is key to practicing Hygge. Luckily for you, summer meetings are our specialty! Call some friends and invite them to dinner this season. Remember to focus on perfection connection: Hygge is how sensation. There is no simpler pleasure than connecting with your loved ones.

Prioritize presence over productivity

As adults, it can be a quarrel challenge the magic we feel when children on school summer holidays. We still have to work, but a way to catch abrupt peace, and even emotion, is to prioritize the maintenance present at the time. Hygge has to do with the presence: it is the art of enjoying the moment. Take the time to really enjoy the slow live rituals you decide to take this season. Rediring plants, folding bedding or drinking brown can be a reminder to reduce speed and taste the season. Let your summer be defined not by what it does, but how it feels.

Summer Hygge is about inviting ease, beauty and presence in everyday life. This season sacrifices innumerable ways to reduce speed and absorb the gift of simply being alive. By bringing intention to the way you design your space and spend your time, you will find that comfort is not reserved for winter; It is a feeling that you can take you all year.
