Was Schiff in California’s tax forms to obtain an exemption to which he had no right and, if so, implies any Federal Criminal Statute? This is what disturbing is because to know, and we simply do not have enough information at this stage to know all the answers.

- The place for federal prosecution would be in Maryland, Washington, DC or the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The jury pool in each of these districts is too liberal and democratic. The chans of a conviction are thorough unless the crime was shameless and strong evidence.

- It is not clear to me that Schiff wrote something false on the list of Maryland’s house as his main residence in a bank loan form. After all, it is where he and his family resided most of the time. We would have to close all the relevant loan documents, including instructions and definitions on how to complete the forms. Except for an explicit written instruction on the loan documents that order Schiff to designate his main residence as any house where he demanded a farm exemption, he is probably clear a position of federal bank fraud.
This leaves open the possibility of a prosecution of the State of California to present fake tax statements. Would you mind betting on that? The conclusion is this: Schiff’s alleged behavior can be sordid and its explanation changes, but a criminal position at the federal or state level does not seem to be in sight.
