British runners Megan Keith and Patrick Dever stand out on the roads of the Big Apple with 67:13 and 59:56 respectively.

Kenya’s Hellen Obiri set a women’s record of 66:33 at the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on Sunday (March 15), besting Sharon Lokedi’s 67:04 from 2025. Meanwhile, the men’s victory went to South Africa’s Adriaan Wildschutt in 59:30.

It was also a good day for the British runners as Megan Keith clocked 67:13 in third place in the women’s race and Patrick Dever broke the 60 minute barrier in seventh place in the men’s race in 59:56.

Keith ran a British record 10km time of 30:06 in Spain last month and continued his good form on the roads here, while Dever improved his best time of 60:11 before competing in next month’s London Marathon. It’s also not Dever’s first time running well in New York, as he finished fourth in last year’s New York City Marathon in 2:08:58 in his marathon debut.

Obiri Obiri raced with Agnes Ngetich and Sharon Lokedi in the early stages but broke away at km 15 and built a lead of half a minute.

Lokedi finished second in 67:10, Keith third in 67:13 and Emily Sisson was the top American in sixth in 69:06.

Adriaan Wildschutt opened an 11-second 20km lead over Zouhair Talbi of the United States and held it to the line as Talbi ran 59:41 with Gulveer Singh of India third in 59:42.

In his half marathon debut, much was expected of Grant Fisher, American record holder for the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, but he finished 14th in 60:53.

The victories in the wheelchair race went to the British Eden Rainbow-Cooper and the American Daniel Romanchuk.
