Next week the Masters Tournament will be held and everything will be absolutely perfect throughout it. That is the tradition of the Masters.
It’s amazing how time and time again, year after year, the Masters do the same incredible job of freezing us all in their story. We stop, pause, forget about everything around us and take in the beauty that is the greatest sporting event there is.
No one is here to discuss how technology has changed society, but it goes without saying that the Masters take us back in time given their no-phone policy. You’re forced to live in the moment and rely on old-school markers. It’s anxiety-provoking at first, but it’s a breath of fresh air.
This year, Delta Air Lines is offering a similar type of experience to its Augusta-bound passengers. They are introducing an analog “Caddie Card” that will encourage customers to plan ahead for their trip to the Masters.
Select flights from ATL and LAX and at Augusta Regional Airport will feature prompts encouraging customers (using Masters lingo if it’s not obvious) to write down things like phone numbers, what they want to eat on the Augusta grounds, and what they hope to get at the merchandise store.
It’s a fun throwback along the way to experiencing the throwback of all throwbacks, and it’s something that helps add to the overall story that the Masters induce as noted. Delta is constantly innovating, so this is no surprise, and since becoming a partner of the Masters tournament in 2018, it has found several ways to bring its passengers closer to the overall experience.
This is great from Delta Air Lines. Tell us if you can be on one of the selected flights and what you write down!
