Philippe Pouletty is a French physician, inventor, venture capitalist, and founder of Carvolix. carvolix is a medical technology company that is introducing AI into cardiology. Before Carvolix, Philippe was the founder of Abivaxwhich makes drugs for chronic inflammatory diseases such as ulcerative colitis. It has been working to help develop French medical products before having to sell them to larger American companies, and Carvolix is the latest. It is an artificial intelligence system that guides cardiologists and a robot that places heart valves. It is of particular interest to me as I need a new heart valve. I had a long and interesting conversation with Philippe about the future of cardiology, in particular heart valve replacement, and also about his next product, a robot to remove brain clots.Matthew Holt
