Olympians win Round the Houses 10k as Fiona sets W65 British Record

Results

olympic athletes Callum Hawkins and freya ross He had excellent performances in the 60sth Jim Dingwall Monument around the houses 10 km.

The event organized by Falkirk Victoria Harriers in Grangemouth hosted our 10km Eastern Championships.

In good conditions, Callum broke the course record on the most recent version of the route with 29:50,

Harmeny athlete AC Fraser Holman took the East title by just four seconds (31:24) Jordan CruickshankAberdeen Metro, who was third overall (31:28).

The women’s race was won by Freya, champion of the 50th anniversary in 2016, turning back time to prevail again at 36:02.

Lothian RC Athlete jose williams was second (37:41) and Anna Calder of the University of Stirling completed the podium in 38:30. The trio also won the Eastern medals.

In Masters age groups, Falkirk Victoria Harriers Masters athlete Fiona Matheson He broke the British W65 record as his new Masters age group, finishing a superb fourth overall (39:19). Congratulations, Fiona!

This year’s event was a success thanks to sponsors and supporters from Scottish Building Society, Forth Ports, People’s Safety Scaffolding, Specsavers Grangemouth, Patrick’s of Camelon, Moore Equipment Hire, Murray Property and Grant Chiropody & Podiatry, along with Physioflex Falkirk and ESP Physio.

Falkirk Victoria Harriers would also like to thank Police Scotland, Falkirk Council and Contraflow for their continued support and Event Medical Group for providing first aid cover, along with Scribli who organized a great family fun fare returning for a second year with an incredible range of stalls and activities for all the family.
