Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel maintain a “great” friendship almost 31 years after their divorce.
The model revealed that she and her son’s father, Alexa Ray Joel, are in good terms In an interview with People published on Wednesday.
“He lives mainly in Florida, so we don’t see him as much as he lived in Sag Harbor, but when he comes to see Alexa, he will enter and greet,” Brinkley, 71, said to The Outlet.
Brinkley looked at his relationship with love again, remembering how they had an immediate connection.
“We laugh as if you couldn’t believe,” he told People. “But he was also so sensitive and did all outdated things, flowers, notes and ponds and songs. He went to the recording studio and was writing all these songs and saying” this is for you. “How could I not fall in love with him?”
Brinkley said that when he saw the singer of “Piano Man” acting on stage, he found “undeniably attached” to a “physical and charismatic man.”

His relationship deepened while filming his famous music video “Uptown Girl” in 1983 and two years later, they married.

He and Roderick share two daughters: Della Rose, 9, and Remy Anne, 7.
Joel, 75, apparently hopes to read Brinkley’s memoirs.
