FLORENCE (ITA, May 9): Leonardo Fabbri won the shot put with 21.43 over Zane Weir (20.24) at the International Pegaso Meeting (WACT Challenger). Successful opener on the outdoor track for Nadia Battocletti, who won the 1,500 n in 4:03.75. Zakithi Nene of South Africa cleared the 400 meters in 44.44 and Louis Francois Mendy of Senegal the 110 meters hurdles in 13.37 (nwi). Spain’s David Barroso won the 800 meters in 1:44.56, with Alessandro Casoni finishing fourth (1:46.59 U20NR). Ronal Longa of Colombia recorded 10.04 (-0.7) to win the 100 meters over Cuban Jenns Fernández (10.20) and Akani Simbine of South Africa (10.28). The British woman wins with Amy Hunt 11.17 (-1.5) in the 100 meters and Jemma Reekie 2:01.26 in the 800 meters. Italy U20 recorded 39.87 in the 4x100m relay.
