THE FACT THAT? elf Beauty has launched the third cohort of its Change the Board Game initiative, welcoming 22 executives to its board grooming program in partnership with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

THE DETAILS The 2026 cohort is the largest since the program launched in 2024 and brings the total number of executives who have participated in the initiative to more than 60. Change the Board Game aims to increase the representation of women and people of color on the boards of directors of U.S. public companies by providing governance education, networking opportunities and board preparation through NACD’s Accelerate program. According to elf Beauty, applications for the program have quadrupled year over year, while 58% of participants who have completed the program now serve on corporate boards.

THE WHY? The initiative is part of eleven Beauty’s broader diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, as the company seeks to expand access to board leadership opportunities and strengthen the pipeline of board-ready executives. The program reflects a growing recognition that diverse leadership teams can contribute to stronger corporate governance and long-term business performance.
