The fact that? The Ecobeautyscore association has officially launched EcobeautyscoreThe first industry -based environmental score system throughout the industry for cosmetics and personal care products. Leading brands that include L’Oréal Paris” Neutrogena” Nivea Q10and Eucerin They have begun to publish EcoBeautyscore ratings in selected European markets, offering consumers a transparent vision of the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle.

The details Developed for three years by a non -profit consortium of more than 70 global manufacturers and commercial associations, Ecobeautyscore is aligned with the methodology of the environmental footprint of the EU product (PEF) and evaluates the products in 16 categories of environmental impact, from carbon emissions and the use of water to the use of the earth and the displacement of resources.

The score system uses a simple AE label, designed to distill complex environmental data in a friendly consumer format. Its methodology has been reviewed by external experts, with participating brands subject to regular independent third parties. Ecobeautyscore is currently live for four categories of products (shampoo, conditioner, body washing and facial care) with more to follow.

The research that supports the launch shows that two thirds of consumers in key markets such as China, the United States, France and Brazil say that the label generates trust, and most intends to consider EcoBeautyscore by making purchase decisions.

The platform is now open to all manufacturers, with free tests and incorporation support, and gradually expand to cover the category of cosmetics and full personal care at a global scale.

Why? The demand for transparency consumers and ecological options in beauty is growing, but almost half or European consumers remain skeptical with brand sustainability statements. Ecobeautyscore offers a long -awaited solution and a system backed by the independently verified industry that enables brands to communicate their environmental impact and improve product design.

For brands, the platform not only builds consumer confidence, but also provides processible data on “critical points”, which facilitate the development of more sustainable products. For consumers, it offers a clear and simple label to make more informed decisions, closing the gap between marketing statements and scientific reality.

As it is projected that the beauty market of Europe exceeds US $ 150 billion in 2025, EcoAutyscore is ready to become a defining standard in the transition of the sector towards greater responsibility and sustainability.
