Apple announced on Tuesday a new macbook pro and macbook air, both driven by him latest chipsas well as a new family of screens. The latter includes a new $1,599 Studio Display and a $3,299 Studio Display XDR.
The new 27-inch displays come with better cameras and improved connectivity.
Both displays feature a 12MP Center Stage camera which the company claims offers improved image quality. It also supports Desk View, a feature that shows your face and an aerial view of your desktop at the same time.
Studio Display’s Retina 5K display has over 14 million pixels, 600 nits of brightness, and supports the P3 wide-gamut color standard that covers a wider range of the visible color spectrum than standards like sRGB.

The displays come with Thunderbolt 5 ports, so they can be connected to accessories and used to daisy chain up to four displays (a Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable is included). There’s also a three-microphone array and a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio. Apple says the new sound system offers 30% deeper bass than the last generation.
The high-end Studio Display XDR features a 5K (5120×2880 resolution) Retina It can reach up to 1000 nits of SDR brightness and 2000 nits of maximum HDR brightness, and has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It also supports the Adobe RGB color standard.
The display has a 120Hz refresh rate, supports Adaptive Sync, and comes with DICOM medical imaging presets and a medical imaging calibrator, making it usable in medical environments. Apple says the Medical Image Calibrator in macOS is pending FDA approval and is expected to be available soon in the US.

While the Studio Display’s stand is tilt-adjustable, the Display XDR also allows you to adjust the height.
Both come in standard or nano-texture glass options, Apple notes.
Pre-orders begin March 4 and displays will be available starting March 11.
