Andhra Pradesh’s prime minister, N. Chandababu Naidu, announced a bold strategic plan to transform the State into a port -based economy to leverage its 1,000 kilometers long coast

The Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandababu Naidu Naidu, announced on Tuesday a strategic plan to develop a port -based economy that takes advantage of the coast of 1,000 kilometers long in the state, establishing ports or fishing ports in each 50 km interval.

The prime minister described that the plan is expected to stimulate economic growth in the state of the south and generate employment and create infrastructure, said an official press release.

“We have presented a strategic plan to build a port -based economy by taking advantage of the 1,000 -kilometer coast of Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu said in the press release.

As part of the era of the Bifurcation of the Central Government, an important initiative was discussed to establish a ship construction and repair group in Dugarajatnam in the Nelllore district.

It is proposed that the project, based on an initial viability report, develops more than 2,000 acres through collaboration between central and state governments. Of the 2,000 acres, 1,000 acres will be assigned for central ship construction units and another 1,000 acres for auxiliary industries.

The plan includes the creation of a Greenfield port integrated with a ship construction and ship repair center, equipment speeches and a ship installation.

The estimated central investment of the project is ₹ 3,500 million rupees, with the Andhra Pradesh government contributing to the land as equity.

Supreme TDP said that a special purpose vehicle (SPV) will attract global ship construction players and that the project will bring ₹ 26000 Crore investments creating 5,000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect jobs.

The prime minister instructed officials to prepare a detailed action plan to accelerate the project. Hello, it also emphasized the improvement of the load movement through the port of Visakhapatnam, crucial for the growth of the state.
