The Government said Thursday that the inempleal rate (UR) in April is 5.1 percent. These are the first monthly data, so there are no comparisons available. In addition, there is some change in methodology.
The 2024 calendar year registered an inempleal rate at 4.9 percent.
“The male UR was a higher touch in 5.2 percent compared to UR or 5 percent women at the country level,” said a periodic workforce survey (PLF), prepared by the National Statistics Office. The data is based on a survey among more than 89,000 homes and more than 3.8 Lakh of people.
Estimates of the unemployed in CWS (current weekly state) give an anverage image of unemployment in a short period of seven days of the survey period. In urban areas, WPR between men and women of similar age group was 71 percent and 23.5 % respectively. The workforce measured in CWS gives the average image of the workforce in a short period of one week in the survey period. The estimate of the workforce in the CWS provides the number of people who worked for at least an hour in any day duration seven days prior to the survey date.
Clarifying that April data are not comparable, the survey report said that, as part of the design of the sample, the monthly rotation panel scheme has been implemented for urban and urban areas, in which each selected Holdsehold is visited four review reviews another three with the review program in the next three months.
