Starbucks Corporation has awarded its Chief Executive Officer, Brian Niccol, a staggering $96 million in compensation last year just four months after he joined the coffee chain giant. He beat heavyweights like Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple’s Tim Cook who both made around $75 million last year.

About 94 per cent of Niccol’s earnings came from stock awards, with the majority tied to performance metrics and the rest vesting over a three-year period. Niccol, 50, who joined Starbucks in September 2023 from Chipotle Mexican Grill, also received a $5 million sign-on bonus just a month into his role, as revealed in company filings.
