How I Find Motivated Sellers (And Get Them Calling Me). Step 3: Sending The Mail

After having taken your list and ordered, the next step is Send the mail.

If you have ever gathered a bulk mail campaign, You know it’s not fun.

Understand the process

The first time I ordered a direct mail campaign, I had no idea what I was doing. Fortunately, all these companies make it relatively easy to do the job (and I have discovered that companies more expectations provide better customer service).

You need a time to configure and establish all the first time you work with the company of your choice, but once you have discovered your piece of email, it is very fast and easy to configure and send your future campaigns.

With most of my emails, my recipients recite your email approximately two weeks after ordering when you use the standard pre-sorted frank. When you use first class frank, they will receive it approximately one week after ordering. Time can be faster or slower about the size of your order and the geographical location of your recipients.

Response rates

What child or response rate should you expect from an email campaign? What is “good enough” to measure success?

First, your response rate will be defended almost completely at:

In my experience, sending mail to a list of criminal taxes, my response rate can be 1% to 5%, but those results are the exception, not the rule.

When sending mail to a list that I extracted from a data service (such as Datatree or Propstream), my response rate will be much lower. The response rate and acceptance rate are two completely different things. At the end of the day, the acceptance rate is what matters.

Overcome the first great obstacle

One of the first biggest obstacles to overcome with direct mail marketing is to find the markets that will work for you, adjusting your lists in the right way and sending an effective mail piece that will obtain the desired results.

It does not always happen in the first attempt, and The results are never guaranteed.

I have had my part of “bombed campaigns”, and I won lies; It is discouraging But this is not reason to surrender. A bad response or acceptance rate It does not mean that direct mail does not work. It means that the variables have been marked in the right thing, and something (perhaps some things) must be reviewed before trying again.

It is not easy to identify why some campaigns work better than others. But these are some of the most common problem areas I have found:

  • The quality of the list (what kind of recipients are you sending by mail?)
  • The age of the list (Are you working with ancient information?)
  • It does not address the most appropriate recipients (is it reducing your list enough?)
  • A weak message in the mail (what are you saying exactly to your recipients?)
  • There is no immediate call to action (do you tell your recipients what to do? Who to call? Why what to visit? And why?)
  • Do not give the recipients Multiple forms of contact meU (telephone, website, email, etc.)
  • One of the contact methods is broken (the website form does not work, the phone number is badly configured, the email address cannot be delivered, etc.).

Monitor all the variables that enter your campaigns because if an acceptable result does not return to your first attempt, you can consult what you did and begin to concentrate on what you ought Be doing again.

The most effective direct mail sellers understand how to aim at their recipients and deliver a message that causes an answer.
