It could be Yohan or another person who has inherited the plan. The manipulated is a reworking of the 2017 film Manufactured city. Actor Ji Chang-wook appears in both projects. Writer Oh Sang-ho wrote the original film and also the series. The film ended on a similar unresolved note and did not receive a sequel. The series, however, could.
So, possible explanations remain, which are that Yohan could have survived, the the babysitter could have rescued himor maybe someone else could have rebuilt or inherited your system. What is The manipulated about?
The Manipulated follows Park Taejoong (played by Ji Chang-wook), a hard-working delivery driver. He works long shifts to finance his younger brother’s education. Along with them he is also opening a small cafe with friends. His girlfriend appears briefly, played by Pyo Ye-jin. One night, Taepoong finds a ringing phone hidden in the bushes. He responds and arranges for her return in exchange for a symbolic reward.
The handover takes place in an emergency telephone booth in a secluded tunnel. Days later, the police arrest him for the rape and murder of a young woman named Chu Na-young. His friends and girlfriend join in to help him. But the evidence planted overwhelms his defense and leads to his conviction. He receives a life sentence and is sent to prison.
Ahn Yohan, played by EXO’s DO Yohan, operates from the shadows as the architect of the plot. He invents murder cases for powerful clients in exchange for large sums of money. He then hides the payments by selling sculptures at private auctions. Discovering Yohan’s plan and realizing that he is responsible for his downfall, Taejoong retaliates. He is supported by Mr. Noh, a former inmate, and his daughter, Eunbi.
