Megyn Kelly issues 4-word reaction after Zohran Mamdani appoints Lillian Bonsignore as FDNY’s first openly gay commissioner

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly reacted after Zohran Mamdani named Lillian Bonsignore as the FDNY’s first openly gay commissioner. On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the mayor-elect of New York City announced that Bonsignore would be the commissioner of the New York City Fire Department.

According to CBS News, Lillian Bonsignore previously worked at the department and retired three years ago. She will take over after Mamdani takes office on January 1, 2026.

Megyn Kelly, who remains an outspoken critic of Zohran Mamdani, responded to the new appointment. On Friday, an X user shared a clip of Mamdani’s announcement. Kelly tweeted the post and wrote:

“Here we go again.”

Zohran Mamdani made the announcement of the appointment at a press conference on Tuesday. The newly elected mayor mentioned that Bonsignore had previously worked as the FDNY’s EMS operations chief and “understands every detail” of her job. Hey

“Her record speaks for itself. 31 years of service. Former FDNY EMS Chief of Operations, leadership on the front lines of 9/11 and the COVID pandemic… She responded quickly to the 9/11 terrorist attacks from right here, joining a convoy of EMS members to the World Trade Center… I’m proud that Lillian will also make history, as the first openly gay person to lead the department,” said Zohran Mamdani.


Megyn Kelly expressed concern after Zohran Mamdani’s victory

“The working class didn’t vote for you. They know you’re a liar. And like I’ve been saying, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. So don’t spare me your speech… You’re from a rich Ugandan family. You weren’t even born in America. You just came here. You have dual citizenship,” Kelly said.

Later, in November, Zohran Mamdani and President Trump They were seen together at the White House. The president even joked about Mamdani calling him a “fascist” during the press conference. Megyn Kelly responded to the friendly exchange of the two leaders and was withdrawn. She laughed out loud after watching the clip of their interaction and said:

“What’s going on? Yeah, what’s going on? MTG is out, and Trump hates her, and she’s a traitor. Zohran Mamdani is in, and Trump thinks it’s funny to call him a fascist… Who are we?”
