Garth Brooks’ ‘Friends in Low Places’ songwriter Larry Bastian dead at 90

Larry Bastian, who worked with Garth Brooks in successful songs such as “Friends in Low Places” and “Rodeo”, has died. I was 90 years old.

The legendary son of composer country, Nick, announced the sad news on Facebook and confirmed that Bastian died on Sunday, April 6 in California.

“The Lord called dad at home last night,” wrote Bastian’s son, for The mirror. “Hello, he taught us to a very early security, along with teaching us to hunt and fish in us. He let us be children, which seems to be a day of dying thesis.”

“Thanks Dad for inspiring how I raised my children,” the tribute continued. “I taught them to work with me and I raised them to be freefield children and now they are raising theirs in the same way. I love you dad.”

Brooks, 63, celebrated the composer in 1995 when he called Bastian, one of the “best music writers of all time.”

“If one looks at the list of the best music writers of all time, I could not imagine that the list is complete without the name of Larry Bastian,” said the Superstar of country music.

In addition to successful songs such as “Friends in Low Places”, “Rodeo” and “The Dance”, Bastian also helped write the greatly popular success “unanswered prayers” with Brooks and his companion composer Pat Alger in 1991.

Brooks was so impressed with Bastian that he has included a story about the composer and “unanswered sentences” in the 1994 compilation notes, “The Hits.”

“Pat Alger and I worked in this song for a long time without a hook, without the line. We spent it through Larry Bastian, and it was if it were Mean to be,” wrote the country singer. “Larry, his wife, Myrna and I were walking for 18th Avenue, and he looked at me and said:” Oh, that’s simple. The publication has communicated with the Brooks representatives to comment on the death of the composer.
