A 14 -year -old girl was killed and food for a lion in front of a horrified friend after the animal entered her residential complex in Kenya, authorities said Sunday.
The unnamed child was taken by the wild cat of a residential area on the outskirts of the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, before her friend called the authorities, said the Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS) in a statement.
“The KWS response equipment and response equipment were quickly mobilized and tracked blood stains that lead to the Mbagathi River, where the girl’s body was recovered with injuries in the lower back,” the agency said.
It is believed that the lion has escaped from the Nairobi National Park, which limits with the residential complex from where the girl was dragged.

The Killer lion remains loose, but a trap has been established and the search equipment has been deployed following the shocking attack, the KWS said.
Additional security measures have been tasks to avoid more attacks, the agency added.
Nairobi National Park, just six miles from the center of Nairobi, is the home of cheese, leopard, lions, buffalo and giraffes.

The park is surrounded by three sides to prevention of animals wandering towards Nairobi, but is open on its southern side to allow animals to migrate inside and outside the park.
While lions can come into contact with humans and damage cattle, fatal attacks against people are very rare.
A day before, a 54 -year -old man was killed by an elephant in the center of Nyeri County, about 80 miles north or Nairobi.
Consecutive deaths were not isolated incidents, and KWS needs to improve “risk assessments and guarantee precise and real time communication of the movement and behavior of wildlife, especially in the high -risk areas known Savannah Ranchervect He told BBC News.
All accommodation, camps and residential developments near wildlife reserves must also be “equipped with anti-predictors deterrence systems, alarms, safe fences and antipred out-of-art,” he said. “Prevention is our first and best defense line.”
