The Mets keep rolling.
They complete a scan of four games about the cardinals with a 7-4 victory in Citi Field on Sunday, giving them nine wins in their first 10 games in Queens this season.
And thanks in part to their dominant performance about St. Louis, they will be first in the National League of the East when the Philis arrive to open a series on Monday.
This victory occurred despite the bullpen slip in the seventh inning, but was redeemed by the Brandon Nimmo warning single at the bottom of the entrance and then an eighth of three races was crowned by a double of two races by Juan Soto.
Nimmo also retained a two -run advantage with a home run savings capture to finish the upper part of the sixth.
The Mets also obtained six strong entries from Clay Holmes, in their best departure as a recast as a start this season.
Francisco Lindor also continued to heating on the plate, with an initial homer, two singles and a couple of races scored.
The Mets had a 3-0 advantage after five and were in two races in the seventh when Leffty Danny Young entered to start the entrance.
With two on and one, Young got Lars Nootbar to look and was replaced by José Butto, but Butto allowed a two-run double to Thomas Saggese to tie the game with 3-3.
Lindor, he thought, reached a dribbler with one at the bottom of the entrance, moved to the second on a Soto walk and scored in a single in the middle by Nimmo to give the advantage again.
It was the second time that Nimmo delivered for the METS on Sunday.
At the top of the sixth, St. Louis obtained a double from Brendan Donovan. He moved to third with one in a wild launch. That allowed Donovan to score in a land of Alec Burleson to reduce the advantage of Mets to 3-1.
Jordan Walker continued with a deep left shot, but Nimmo took a jump in the fence to steal Walker from a two -run homer who would have tied the game.
They ended the advantage in the seventh and then scored another race in the eighth thanks to a double by Luisangel Acuña to start the entrance and then a double RBI of Tyrone Taylor.
Then, Soto helped put the game out of reach with a booming double to the center of the left to score two more.
