Roseburg, Oregon. (AP) -A Oregon College softball team that was traveling from a game was involved in a two -vehicle accident that killed an athlete and coach, authorities said Saturday.
The driver of a truck crossed a central line and crashed from a bus that took 10 members of the Umpqua Community College team on Friday night in Coos Count, said the Oregon state police.
Jami Strinz, 46, described on the school website as the Softball main coachI was driving the Chevrolet Express bus. Police said he was later declared dead in a hospital.

The team was traveling from a game in Coos Bay, the department said in a publication on social platform X.
“We are deeply sad to confirm that one of our students athletes and one of our coaches lost their lives in the accident,” he said. “The hearts of UCC are broken with this news, and we ask the community to keep the families already affected in their thoughts and sentences.”
The other eight bus occupants suffered “length of serious injuries and emergency medical services were provided,” police said. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado truck was also a seriously injury and was tasks of an emergency medical center.
“The deteriorated driving is considered a main cause of the accident,” said the police, and a criminal investigation was ongoing.
