Pete Alonso was the rookie of the year of the National League in 2019, when he launched 53 homers.
He led the largest in battered races in 2022, when he finished eighth in the MVP vote.
It was an All-Star in 2023 and ’24.
But through a remarkable race in the big leagues that sees it in Darryl Strawberry for the franchise home runs, Alonso has never felt better on the dish than at this time.

“He has conviction. He has a plan. He is running it,” said manager Carlos Mendoza, who has never seen Alonso so hot. “I don’t think we’ve seen this version last year, maybe towards the end and definitely in the playoffs, but I think now … it is a dangerous batter.”
