Tampa before Max Fried could lose his game without hits, he lost himself for him in the middle of the eighth.

While Fried ran to the mound for the lower part of the eighth working on an offer without success through seven entries, the official scorer announced a controversial score change to give the Rays their first success of the day.

In the lower part of the sixth, Chandler Simpson hit a ball of land from the first base that Paul Goldschmidt could not film cleanly.

The rapid Simpson broke it on the line and may have defeated Fried there that Goldschmidt handled it, but the play scored an error in Goldschmidt.

After an additional review, thought, the official scorer Bill Matthews announced that he was changing the score to a single for Simpson.
