On Thursday night, we were all blue jackets. Forever, we will remember Columbus, a team, an organization and a fan base that raised the sport following the indescribable tragedy.

The jackets may have fallen short in their search to reach the playoffs, but the franchise shed a light on the power of the community in Columbus’s response to the deaths of the beloved Johnny and Matthew Gaudeau.

Almost all teams like to call themselves a family. Much, if not most of the time, it is a fable. But not the 2024-25 blue jackets, inspired by Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny’s widow and the entire clan, represented the best of families.

Prove the organization; Accredit the administration of the manager of President General Don Waddell; The influence of the main advisor John Davidson; The leadership of the chief coach Dean Evason; And the Camaradía of the group promoted by Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau’s best friend, who joined instead of separating.
