When the NBA organizes its Annual Draft lottery on May 12 in Chicago, the contingent Nets there are sure of its first lottery selection since 2010.

And coach Jordi Fernández will be available and ready for a fortune that changes the franchise, waiting for Pingpong balls to bounce on the Brooklyn path.

“I’ll be in Chicago,” Fernández said. “I will be with a group and, as you know, there are many things there. And we are ready to be lucky.”

If there was ever a time for Nets to be lucky, this could be.

There are few inflection points this foundation.

Nets have the sixth most chance of the lottery, which means that they will have a nine percent chance of winning the NO. 1 pick and Cooper Flagg.

Nets have a 37.2 percent probability of obtaining a selection somewhere in the top 4. They have a 50.3 percent chance of landing in the seventh (29.7) or eighth (20.6).

“Obviously, we have a very important summer here,” said Fernández, who was in PS 1 in honor of Sant Jordi’s Day, distributing roses and books in the usual tradition of the Catalonia holidays. “And we will be working, organized and excited because obviously with the draft and everything we have happening.”

The Nets have five selections in June four first round and their own second. Beyond the lottery, Brooklyn will select 19, 26, 27 and 36.

They also have Dariq Whitehead, 20 years old and Noah Clowney, both children under one third of this incoming class.

To the question of whether the Nets would change an choice. And how many perspectives can develop at the same time?

The general manager of the Nets, Sean Marks, will have a low season occupied. Jason Szenes / New York Post

“Yes, it is a good question, probable one more question to [general manager] Sean [Marks] of what it is for me, “Fernández demorted.” I will be ready to train any group we put together. And the coaches, as we always try to do, [will] Help them improve and show them the way and habits … and be connected and do all those things we have preaching and build the identity we want to build. “

Whoever Brooklyn ends up taking, Fernández will have an active role.

“There will be no surprises in the draft, who we wrote, because he would have something to say,” Marks said. “His staff is empowered to express an opinion and we really collaborate in these things. We have a year under our belts of understanding the Jordi system and how chickens are chickens and what kind of talent is looking for, what attributes is looking for. Searching.”

Fernández was shy about which attributes are important to add in this draft: shot, length, defense, etc.

But whatever the case, your contribution will have weight.

“Yes, obviously, this is my first time as a chief coach who goes through this process, so he will notice as I have done before,” said Fernández. “Be always talk about collaboration, and for that I am ready; I am ready to help and do what I can, to give my opinion.

“But at the end of the day, Sean and his group, what they do is see these children live [and] In tape. They have observed their legs for a while, so they are experts. I and the coaches will be there to support and help. So it’s an exciting summer. ”
