The authorities say that “a job should be done to improve this space in the following areas of intervention: urban landscape, tourist attraction points, public space model and interruptions or transformations that result from urban developments.”
One of the tourist attraction points is an area dedicated to taking images in a large place on the Gaudi plaque in front of the church front.
The square will relieve the sidewalks and leave space in front of local businesses that were previously blocked by tourists.
