WWE: Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 opponent possibly revealed

Brock Lesnar will return to WrestleMania for the first time in three years and the company reportedly has a return date and opponent in mind for The Beast Incarnate.

By 2023, Brock Lesnar He defeated Omos in a one-on-one contest, which ended up being his last match at WrestleMania for a while. The Beast Incarnate was surrounded by controversy in 2024 and all plans related to it were scrapped; the company stayed away from the former UFC star.

Last year, the 48-year-old veteran returned to the Stamford-based promotion and has yet to suffer a single loss. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (CATTLE), the three-time Universal Champion will return to the promotion in Saudi Arabia for the Royal Rumble.

In addition, Meltzer stated that the company could have a fight between Lesnar and Gunther at this year’s event, as they previously scrapped the idea. The source further stated that there were two cases where the management wanted to do the match, but they couldn’t book it.

The two have had very few encounters, but according to Meltzer’s statement, matches were discussed sometime in 2023 and 2024. It will be interesting to see how the company schedules a fight between Gunther and Brock Lesnar in the coming months ahead of WrestleMania 42.


Brock Lesnar remained undefeated in 2025

Last year, Brock Lesnar made his first appearance for the company in two years and attacked John Cena at WWE SummerSlam 2025. The two eventually feuded, and The Beast Incarnate went toe-to-toe with The Leader of the Cenation at Wrestlepalooza.

The 10-time WWE World Champion dominated the competition and won the match in Indianapolis. Later, he returned to the red brand and joined forces with Drew McIntyre and The Vision against Roman reignsCody Rhodes, CM Punk and The Usos, facing Survivor Series in San Diego.

In the end, The Vision, Lesnar and McIntyre won the gimmick match. The former UFC star has not been seen in the weekly product since the event in San Diego. It will be interesting to see what’s next for The Beast Incarnate heading into WrestleMania 42 in Nevada.
